Quatesha Harden
Quatesha's journey into the world of hair care began at a tender age of 12, as the third generation of hairstylists in her family. With her mother imparting a diverse range of hairstyling techniques, and her grandmother sharing the same passion for hair care, Quateshia was destined to follow in their footsteps.
Before embarking on her career as a stylist, Quateshia dedicated herself to the healthcare field, assisting individuals with special needs and disabilities. This experience showcased her innate desire to care for others, alongside her burning artistic flair for hairstyling.
In 2009, at just 19 years old, Quateshia faced a life-altering health scare. A routine pap test revealed a positive result, placing her one stage away from cervical cancer. Her journey led her to a specialist, and during this period, she delved deep into understanding the products she used daily. Her research uncovered startling facts about the toxicity of certain ingredients, particularly sodium hydroxide, a primary component in hair relaxers. She learned that it ranked among the top 10 most hazardous substances globally, capable of causing severe harm even through inhalation.
In response, Quateshia decided to make a transformative change. She embraced a natural lifestyle, altered her diet, and became acutely aware of the ingredients in everyday products, even in something as seemingly innocuous as seasonings and processed foods. Remarkably, her follow-up appointment with her doctor just three months later revealed no visible signs of her previous health scare.
Since then, Quateshia has dedicated herself to assisting over 600 women in their transitions to natural hair care and reducing the frequency of harmful chemical treatments. Her ultimate goal is to provide innovative solutions for women worldwide who seek permanent straight hair, all while emphasizing the importance of healthy and toxin-free hair care practices. Quateshia is not just a hairstylist; she is a passionate advocate for wellness and self-care.
Quateshia, a loving mother of five children ranging in age from 18 to a playful toddler of 2, cherishes her downtime by creating treasured family memories. Whether traveling with her loved ones, attending her kids' sporting events, embarking on exciting dates with her partner, or preparing her children's favorite meals, she finds joy in every moment.
